Introduction
This is a new course, allowing students to develop the skills they have already gained to a more advanced level. This is a one-year course, which combines a range of digital video shooting, editing, special effects, audio recording and editing skills along with 3D modeling and animation skills. Those who complete this course may gain entry into the second year of a Level 8 degree course.
Minimum Entry Requirements
FETAC Level 5 certificate in a relevant course.
Students who complete the TV & Film Production, level 5 Course, may gain entry to this level 6 course.
Duration
This is a one-year daytime course. Students attend three and a half days per week and are given course work to complete outside of class-time.

Facilities In This Department
This department contains the most up to date hardware and software. Students on this course are assigned their individual Apple Mac computer, which they can work at all day everyday that they are in class.
Facilities include wireless Apple Macs, wide screen G5s, a range of digital video cameras, still cameras, scanners, sound recording equipment, music/soundtrack production equipment, colour and black & white laser printers and ink jet printers. We have a green screen animation room, in which students can produce stop-motion animations, with the option of mixing them with live video. 3D computer animations can also be produced using Cinema 4D.
Software includes; Cinema 4D, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Flash, Toon Boom Studio, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, Microsoft Office.
Interviews
These take place in mid May,and again in the first week of September.
