Argan is a wealthy and healthy hypochondriac convinced that his every twinge, ache and pain is a sentence of death. Greedy doctors, a sleazy lawyer and a fortune hunting young wife indulge his fantasies of sickness.

When Argan tries to marry his daughter to an imbecilic doctor, his feisty servant concocts a medicinal plot to cure his hypochondria once and for all.

 

Roger McGough, award winning Liverpudlian poet and playwright dispenses rip roaring comic medicine in his cheeky adaptation of Moliere’s last comedy, an hilarious lampoon on both quackery and hypochondria.

 

KinsaleCollegebrings its habitual infectious energy and ensemble spirit to a lively production abounding in scatological humour, the odd fart joke and potty rhyming couplets. Adding to the mix, original music, puppetry and ridiculous characters guarantee a tonic fit to cure all ills.
